Simpsons Comics Wingding Reviews
I have a dozen Simpsons comic books and Wingding is my favorite! Every comic is a hit and it starts off with the best Simpsons comic ever: "Don't Cry for Me Jebediah." Bart has to do a school essay on the town founder. For once, Bart is motivated due to the prize for the top paper: a year's supply of Squishees (Mrs. Krabapal made out with Apu to get this prize). Unable to find a new, exciting angle, Bart decides to create his own by hooking up an apparatus to make the Jebediah Springfield statue in the middle of town appear to cry. The media circus kicks into high gear! Town square becomes a haven for opportunistic vendors including Moe's "tear beer", Ned Flanders' "shroud of Jebediah" hankies, and Homer's "tear in a cube." Bart can almost taste those free Squishees!
I read this with my two teen sons. We're all Simpsons fans. It was our first experience with Simpsons in comic book form, and we all enjoyed it (although my 16 year old said he prefers the Futurama comics). The book really came alive - as my 13 year old put it, when he thinks of the stories, he can't remember if he saw them on tv or in the book. "Little big mart", which focused on Apu, was the weakest story in the book.
I just LOVE THIS! This is certainly as good as it looks! This is funny, just as funny as the TV-Show. You have to read this! This is the best Simpsons Comics Collection Ever!
I recently found this book on the internet. I did not even know that this book existed. I thought about buying it. For what seemed like decades, I thought about buying it. Then I decided not to buy it. Based on what I saw of the cover, I thought this book was by far the best book I have ever read. I think the author had his neck screwed on correctly while writing this book. I was thoughly impressed with the subject. The only thing that left anything to be desired was of course the amount of junk on the website. Still. . .
